Second Chance

Reentry programs attempt to break the cycle that we see daily in the criminal justice system of offending, imprisonment, then re-offending. Such programs are designed to assist returning citizens to successfully “reenter” society following their incarceration, thereby reducing their recidivism. The Family Resource Center South Atlantic is a participant driven referral and support organization that provides services to individuals returning to their community from correctional facilities. We are integrally involved in the development and implementation of creative solutions to address reentry barriers.

Successful reintegration of formally incarcerated persons returning to their community has become a critical aspect of the correctional missions. Our evidence-based practices are reflected in approaches and programming, targeting individuals who have a medium to high risk of reoffending, and tailoring services to meet certain needs has the greatest impact on lowering rates of recidivism.
